Life at Project
Every part of Project Galveston is designated with the intention of helping you grow in your faith. Learn, Live, Lead are the 3 main components that make up our time on the island!
Learn
-
Join students from the project for large group meeting. We will have student-led worship and a message from someone on Campus Outreach staff about walking with God in college. Each week will be a different message on a variety of topics-justification, adoption, sanctification, relationships, and more. This is so hype and a great way to start the week!
-
The Bible is a big book and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed! Over the summer you will explore the main theme of the Bible and learn what it has to say about your life and following Jesus in tangible ways. This will also help you learn how to prepare and lead your own Bible study.
-
Ever feel awkward bringing up faith? Learn how to navigate conversations about faith in a more natural way to both friends and strangers. At this training, you will learn tools to communicate the gospel.
Live
-
Discipleship group, aka d-group, is the bread and butter of Project. This group is thoughtfully created with student leaders and first year project goers. D Groups eat, drink, play, work together. This is a biblical model for discipleship! Once a week, each D Group will have time to meet together to read the bible and have a much more formal intentional time with each other.
-
On this morning, guys and girls will separate to learn about godly manhood and godly womanhood. They will hear from different staff on tools to practically grow in these areas. We love creating an environment to foster community and accountability.
-
Once a week, all the students will have a social time! This is a time that helps create a community and unity with everyone on Project! These are so fun and different every week!
Lead
-
Students will be provided with a full time job. Because there have been several Project Galveston summer programs in Galveston the past few years, we have formed partnerships with different local businesses in the area. During the first week of Project, you will have the orientation and then begin working consistently. You typically work between 35-40 hours a week Tuesday-Saturday.
-
The local church is vital to the growth of any Christian and a priority that is instilled during Project. Every Sunday students will attend Coastal Community with everyone on Project and invited to serve weekly in children’s ministry, first impressions, and other areas!
